Hone Health review: the most itemized pricing in TRT telehealth

Verdict

$65 to find out, then roughly $180–215+/month all-in on the tier that includes ongoing care: a $65 lab assessment (50+ biomarkers) plus consult up front, then a Premium membership at $155/month with medication billed on top — injectable testosterone from $28/month, cream or troches from $60/month. Hone publishes more line items than any other TRT clinic we track, which is why you can actually compute your bill before signing up. One thing to verify at signup: Hone's membership tiers appear to be mid-change (details below).

The baseline for any TRT clinic: testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. Hone requires the lab panel plus a physician consult before any prescription, and retests on an ongoing schedule — that's not friction, it's what a legitimate prescriber has to do. We compare cost and logistics only, not whether treatment is right for you; see our medical disclaimer.

What it actually costs

ItemPriceNotes
Initial biomarker test + physician consult$6550+ biomarkers, at-home or at-lab collection; one-time to start
Premium membership$155/moHomepage tier incl. regular lab retesting + follow-ups every 90 days; medication billed separately
Basic membership$25/moHomepage tier: labs every 6 months, consults purchasable separately, member pricing on select meds — not a full TRT care bundle
"Plus" membership (older pricing page)$135/moStill listed on Hone's own cost article; appears superseded by the tiers above — confirm which tiers exist at signup
Testosterone injectionsfrom $28/moIncludes injection supplies; price rises with dose
Testosterone creamfrom $60/moCompounded formulation — not an FDA-approved product
Testosterone trochesfrom $60/moCompounded formulation — not an FDA-approved product
Enclomiphenefrom $42/moCompounded/off-label — not an FDA-approved product
Clomiphene citratefrom $38/moPrescribed off-label for this use

Realistic ongoing math on the Premium tier: $155 membership + $28–60+ medication ≈ $183–215+/month, with the $65 assessment up front and ongoing retesting included in the membership rather than billed as surprise lab fees. That "labs included" detail matters when you compare against budget clinics — a $99/month sticker plus separately billed labs can close much of the gap. Full market math in our TRT cost guide.

How it works

You buy the $65 assessment, collect the sample at home or at a partner lab, and review results in a telehealth consult with a licensed physician. If labs and evaluation support a diagnosis, the doctor prescribes and medication ships from Hone's pharmacy partners; membership covers the ongoing appointments and monitoring labs (retesting every 90 days on Premium, per Hone's homepage). Hone doesn't accept insurance; it takes HSA/FSA cards, and bills monthly rather than demanding multi-month prepay.

The tier change worth verifying

As of our August 27, 2026 check, Hone's homepage sells two memberships — Basic at $25/month (labs every 6 months, consults purchasable, member pricing) and Premium at $155/month (the full care bundle) — while Hone's own TRT-cost article still describes a $135/month "Plus" tier alongside Premium. Both pages are Hone's. When a provider's own pages disagree, the checkout price wins: confirm which tier your ongoing TRT care actually requires before you count on a number.

Where Hone wins

  • Publishes assessment, membership, and per-medication prices — you can compute the all-in cost before signing up
  • Ongoing monitoring labs included in the full-care membership, not billed as extras
  • Injectable testosterone from $28/mo is among the lowest published medication prices in the group
  • Monthly billing, cancel anytime; HSA/FSA accepted
  • Labs-first, physician-gated process — the structure a Schedule III prescription is supposed to have

Where it doesn't

  • The $155/mo full-care membership makes the realistic all-in higher than flat-fee budget clinics
  • Cream, troches, and enclomiphene are compounded — not FDA-approved products
  • Membership tiers currently differ between Hone's own pages — you have to verify at checkout
  • No insurance billing; if your diagnosis would be covered, your own doctor + pharmacy is likely cheaper
  • Medication price "from" figures rise with dose

About Hone's media arm

Hone owns The Edge, the men's-health publication at honehealth.com/edge — including articles comparing TRT clinic costs. The pricing data there is useful (we cite it, since it's Hone's own published pricing), but read its clinic comparisons as what they are: content marketing from one of the clinics being compared, not independent journalism.

Who should pick Hone

Men who want the total cost computable in advance, monitoring labs bundled instead of bolted on, and monthly billing they can walk away from. If you want the absolute lowest sticker and will price the labs yourself, compare TRT Nation; if you want one flat all-inclusive fee, compare Fountain TRT. And if labs confirm a diagnosis, check whether your own doctor plus insurance covers generic testosterone cypionate first — that path beats every cash clinic on this site and pays us nothing.
